For the past two or so months, our bathroom has been home to an orange ladybird (I wanted to get a picture but they wouldn't be any good).
At first he was contently sitting above our shower. He was there forever, not moving and I figured he was dead. Then I noticed that he would "drink". His little legs would caress his little face. So we figured he was living on the water.
He then moved to the light in the middle of the room and stayed there another couple of weeks.
What has made me write this is that he finally came down and as I was brushing my teeth I finally got to meet the little guy.
Richard and I looked him up on the internet and supposedly they are not rare. I have actually seen quite a few this summer, and dark ones with white spots. We found that they eat mildew, and that is why, we assume, he has been living in our bathroom.
I will be sad if he has decided to move on, and I will miss looking up at him while I take a shower and wonder "What the heck is that little guy doing up there?"
