Bush vs. the Shoe

I wasn't going to put anything up about this because I am sure it has been rehashed to death on American TV...but...when I thought about it I had to make sure everyone saw this. Now, what I want everyone to see is not that Bush gets shoes thrown at him, but the way he handled it. He thinks it is funny! Which is pretty cool...he actually aknowledges freedom in how he handles the situation and the interviews that follow.

So for those who can't get enough, here is the video of the shoe throwing, but I am also going to add an interview so everyone who hasn't seen it already, can see how calm and collected he is about the situation:

Aww he was so cool about it. He did a couple of other things this week that I saw on the news and liked but I cant remember what they were right now.

I was impressed by the ducking response, I think his secret service detail make him practice on slow days in the oval office.

You're probably right about the ducking practice. I can imagine he has more than a couple of shoes thrown at him. He did state in an interview that this was the weirdest thing that has been thrown at him.
I bet he is a cool guy, just not a good leader.

I am impressed. Too bad he didn't present himself that way more during the past 8 years.

Oh, I have to comment on the Bush vs Shoe thing. 1. Mr. Bush is quick! 2. Where the hell were the secret service!? The man got off two shoes before it looks like another reporter grabbed him. Aren't the secret service supposed to tackle the president and cover him when they think he is in danger? Of course, it was just a shoe and they probably would have been criticized for overreacting, and of course everyone had been screened for weapons . . . 3. That reporter had pretty good aim and was throwing pretty hard. Had Bush not ducked he would have taken one in the face. It would have been nice to see him take one in the face though. I know that is not PC, but I have to be honest.
