What is it about Tuesdays that makes people have random thoughts and therefore some kind of theme post on Tuesdays? "Random Tuesday Thoughts" is a popular thing in the blog-o-sphere and Ms. S has "Trivial Tuesdays" I am not joining the band wagon, but I did have some random thoughts today that I would like to share.
- How good is butter? Yummy.
- I love getting my vegi and fruit boxs (I keep forgetting to take pictures). I got one of those cool twisty, cauliflower things today that my mom and I saw in Penzance.
- My Horror movie fest is going well, I have been averaging 2 movies a day.
- Why is zucchini bread so good...smothered with the butter?...I am sure that is really where half my weight gain came from, not the Sprout.
- It finally got cold outside and inside.
- Why does my cat constantly meow at me?
- In the UK we can't get Pandora so I found Jango which is basically the same thing. You make your own radio station and you rate the songs they play.
- I am going in for another scan on Saturday...fingers crossed that the Sprout is still a boy. We aren't deciding names until we have the scan and even then I am sure it won't be concrete until we actually get to spend some time with him.
- I am having a hard time deciding which songs to sing to the Sprout...I am not much for baby songs, so I am thinking of jazzy blues and rock songs.
- I feel so much better now that Lauren got us a car seat and I ordered a cot/bed with the money my mom gave us.
- I still haven't gotten my holiday pay, but you'd better believe I have been an annoying so and so with my boss, this is ridiculous. She told me this week half the staff didn't get paid, including her.
- I love that my brother is swimming and blogging about it, he is so funny.

I haven't ever heard about Random Tuesday Thoughts, that is so funny that I do the same thing with a different name.
I'm glad you've written a little about the sprout here...I've been missing your updates. We have a ton of stuff to send you (for the sprout) but for some reason I keep putting it off.
I tried to turn on the heat last night and Danny handed me a blanket :)
That is a beautiful cauliflower. I found an interesting description of it at almostachef.com -
"If you aren’t familiar with this particular variety, the Romanesco, a chartreuse, conical cauliflower, almost looks unreal. It is striking in beauty, and has an interesting story as well. The physical attributes are precisely explained on the Rungis website: “Its shape is a perfect illustration of the mathematical principle of fractals; a fractal being an object presenting self-similarity. In this case, all florets are identical to one another even though the size may change, and if each one were magnified, it would be an exact replica of a Romanesco cauliflower. Another mathematical curiosity: the florets grow in a spiral, one after another, according to a rhythm called the Fibonacci series, following the famous golden number, origin of all aesthetic harmony according to the Renaissance artists”. The Romanesco is also sometimes referred to as broccoli, and it seems to be unclear exactly which category describes it best, because it has such an astonishing identity of its own."
I grew the green and chedder colored varieties this year but you can bet I will include this one in my garden next year! Thanks for sharing it.
Dad
Fractals was the first thing that came to my head when we first saw it.
It tastes just like cauliflower.
