May to september: an overview,
Wow. I can`t believe the hiatus I have been on. Just got tired of being on the internet. I either spend twice the amount of time I was planning to, or I would spend loads of money.
So here is a run down of the Summer. Went to the US. Managed to fit everyone in. Came back. Saw our fabulous new bathroom. Started taking driving lessons again,my test is schedualed for mid October (was told it is bad luck to tell people the date). Started a quilt. Went camping with E to the Northern Dales, Swaledale (I need to get the pictures off of E so I can put them up). Won £400. Spent £400. Finished a quilt. Yelled at the neighbour kids for continuing to throw water balloons at my windows. Told parents. Kids had to come apologize. Felt like a real adult. Noticed leaves turning yellow. Felt guilty about not writing. That is my summer in a nutshell. Oh yeah. and I am still waiting to hear from immigration about my visa. Has been one month now.
I was doing some research on my blog to find when the first entries about fall occurred. The earliest was last year on Sept 6, but I wasn't talking about leaves changing that didn't come until the end of September. I will say that this year fall is a month early. Leaves have begun to turn and drop. I can't believe summer is gone. It isn' t about the lower temperatures that bother me, it is the shortening of the days that I dread. And although most of my days were spent outside this Summer, I spent too many of my nights inside and that makes me a little sad.
I have started gathering together my "Rainy Day Activity Kit". So far, I have gathered Crayola finger paints, assorted puffy stickers, plastic scissors, paint brushes, and MANY sites on toddler art projects. We already have tons of coloured pencils, washable markers and crayons.
This reminds me, I need to post a new "My favourite things" list.
I got really excited about the finger painting, so now I finally own my first Sprout original that I have hung proudly on my wall. It was kinda funny, because the Sprout didn't take to finger painting like I thought he would. He DID NOT want the paint on his hands. He wanted to use the paint brush, and he wanted the paint in pots, not spread all over the paper like I had presented it. Eventually, his hands and face were covered in paint, but it wasn't because he went hog wild on the colours, but because the paint was in his way, or wasn't doing what he wanted it to be doing.
