A train to anywhere

If I could ride a train anywhere it would be across Europe and Asia.  I think that would be really fun and there would be tons of things to see.

I would also love to ride a train down the Sierra Nevadas.
In the past I have looked to see if you can ride the train from Tacoma to Reno on Amtrak.com, which I think would be pretty cool.  Man is this an expensive trip.  You can go from Tacoma to Sacramento on the train and then a bus from Sacramento to Reno for $199 one way.  In total the trip would take about 27 hrs.  If you want to go the whole way you would pay $204 one way, and it would take about 30 hours.  On either of these routes you can buy a room on the train starting at $279.00 plus the fare.
